Suzuki Baleno

This September Frankfurt International Motor Show which took place has become a place where the world’s leading car brands have first presented their new models.  Japanese Company Suzuki has brought to this show their new hatchback Baleno -a budget five-door model, focused mainly on the European market.

Such a name has already been worn by one of the brand’s mid-90 model, offered in sedan, wagon and hatchback solutions. The novelty features a contemporary and dynamic view with its “flowing” lines of the body, relief contours of the wheel arches and the sloping contours of the roof. The car demonstrates stylish lighting equipment with LED “underlines” of navigation lights and its luggage compartment is decorated with neat lights in original “pattern.”

Suzuki Baleno is a representative of the European B-Class with the relevant body dimensions: overall length of 3995 mm, height – 1470 mm, width – 1745 mm with a wheelbase of 2520 mm and a modest ground clearance of 120 mm.

Against the background of exterior Suzuki the interior of Baleno looks somewhat archaic because of being far from the most outstanding design, although it’s impossible to reproach the car in a complete absence of style. Accurate steering wheel with operating elements, informative “toolbox” with multi-screen and simple in appearance center console with color monitor and “climate” unit – finally the hatchback interior has all the attributes essential to the modern vehicles. However the basic version design is much simpler.

The interior of “Baleno” is designed for 5 passengers but the modest dimensions and shape of the sloping roof will obviously adversely affect the ease of placement for the rear passengers. The car’s compact trunk compartment is designed to carry 355 liters of luggage.

Suzuki Baleno will be available with two petrol engines customized for environmental standards of “Euro 6”: a three-cylinder “BoosterJet” turbine unit with capacity of 1.0 liter producing 112 horsepower and a 1.4-liter atmospheric “DUALJEY” engine with return of 90 “horses”.

A new modular front-wheel “trolley” has been implemented as a base for Suzuki Baleno: with independent McPherson struts on the front axle and the construction of semi-torsion beam at the back. The hatchback is equipped with ventilated front disc brakes and with drum or disc rear brakes (depending on the modification).

In Europe, sales of the new Suzuki Baleno will start in spring 2016. The cost of “Baleno” will be around 16 thousand euro, and by default it will be equipped with six airbags, audio unit, ABS, ESP and air conditioning. And the “top” modifications of Baleno will have an anti-collision system, adaptive cruise control, multimedia with a 7-inch screen and a full range of climate, automated glass hoist, and a number of other additional options.
