History of the Yamaha Raptor 700R
The Raptor 700R is the second generation of Yamaha’s Raptor sport quad, following the Raptor 660. It is a full-size machine aimed at riders who want performance rather than utility work.

Its 686 cc single-cylinder overhead-cam engine uses electronic fuel injection, which gives more precise fuelling than a carburettor and helps the engine start and run cleanly. Electric starting removes the need for a kick starter, and the five-speed manual gearbox includes a single-speed reverse for manoeuvring.
The model is also known by its Yamaha code, YFM700R. It has become one of the best-known sport quads of its era and remains a common sight at off-road events and in modified form.
