The TagAZ C190 was a licence-built model of the Russian Taganrog automobile factory, a rebadged JAC Rein. It joined the range in October 2011, four months after the C10, and was assembled from complete knock-down kits. The sources record the model’s origin and its place in the last years of the factory rather than technical details.

History of the TagAZ C190
Second JAC model
In October 2011 the Taganrog factory added the C190, a rebadged version of the JAC Rein, to its line-up. It followed the C10, a rebadged JAC Tojoy whose assembly had begun in June of the same year. Both arrived as complete knock-down kits and took their place in a range that already included Hyundai models, the BYD F3, the Vortex cars and the factory’s own TagAZ models. At one point TagAZ could build up to 20 different models at the same time.

The last years of the factory
The Taganrog plant covers 60,000 m² and is divided into five departments: the welding body shop, the paint shop, the assembly shop with four lines, the electroplating shop and the functional testing shop. Its conveyor line is laid out vertically over four floors, with a network of lifts and elevators between the levels, and all completed vehicles undergo a road test on a track made up of varied road surfaces. The C190 was one of the models of this final period: on 21 January 2014 TagAZ was declared bankrupt.
