The TagAZ C10 was a licence-built model of the Russian Taganrog automobile factory, a rebadged JAC Tojoy. Assembly from complete knock-down kits began in June 2011, when the plant was producing a wide range of models under several brands. Only a few details of the model are recorded: the sources describe its origin and its place in the factory’s last years.

History of the TagAZ C10
Added to the range
In June 2011 TagAZ began assembly from complete knock-down kits of the C10, a rebadged version of the JAC Tojoy. The car joined a range that had grown well beyond the factory’s original South Korean licences: by then the Taganrog plant assembled Hyundai models, the BYD F3 and the Vortex cars, as well as its own TagAZ models. At one point the company could produce up to 20 different models at its facilities at the same time.

The factory behind the car
The Taganrog plant covers 60,000 m² and is divided into five departments: the welding body shop, the paint shop, the assembly shop with four lines, the electroplating shop and the functional testing shop. Its conveyor line is laid out vertically over four floors, with lifts and elevators linking the levels, and every completed vehicle is road-tested on a track made up of varied road surfaces. The C10 belonged to the final chapter of this factory: on 21 January 2014 TagAZ was declared bankrupt.
