History of the Radical SR8
The SR8 is a British sports car built by Radical Sportscars and the fastest of the company’s road-going cars. It became known above all for its lap of the Nordschleife: in 2009 Michael Vergers drove a street-legal SR8 LM around the Nürburgring circuit in 6:48.28 on Dunlop Direzza DZ03 tyres, an all-time record for a road-legal car that stood until 29 June 2010.

The SR8 also went racing. In 2015 Dominic Dobson drove one to victory in the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in Colorado. Away from competition, a prototype is being converted into an all-electric version by Racing Green Endurance, a student-led project of Imperial College London, with help from Radical Sportscars.
