History of the Ferrari 812 Superfast
Engine and steering

The 812 Superfast has a 6.5-litre V12, an enlarged version of the F12’s 6.3-litre, with 800 PS at 8,500 rpm. According to Ferrari in 2018 it was the most powerful naturally aspirated production car engine ever made; it has no turbocharging or hybrid technology, and cars built in 2020 or after have a petrol particulate filter. It is the first Ferrari with electronic power steering and shares the rear-wheel steering system (Virtual Short Wheelbase 2.0) of the limited-edition F12tdf.
Performance and design
Ferrari claims 0 to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 340 km/h. Motor Trend measured 0 to 60 mph in 2.8 seconds and a 10.4-second quarter mile at 138.6 mph in 2018. The car recorded 1:21.50 at Fiorano, 0.50 seconds behind the more track-focused F12tdf. The design is based on the F12berlinetta with full LED headlamps, bonnet air vents, quad circular taillights and a body-coloured rear diffuser; active flaps in the rear diffuser open at high speed to reduce drag.
Design and features
- Engine: the most powerful naturally aspirated V12 of its time.
- Steering: electronic power steering and rear-wheel steering.
