The LML Adreno is a small four-stroke motorcycle that Lohia Machinery Limited presented in 2000 as one of its first two own motorcycle designs. It shared its technical basis with the unfaired LML Energy, had an electric starter, a five-speed gearbox and a front disc brake, and after a facelift at the end of 2001 received the company’s own 110 cc Delta 4 engine.

History of the LML Adreno
LML had been known since 1982 as a company that developed and built motor scooters in cooperation with the Italian maker Piaggio. When four-stroke engines increasingly took over the Indian two-wheeler market at the end of the 1990s, the company began a collaboration with the South Korean motorcycle maker Daelim in 1998. After Piaggio withdrew from LML in December 1999, LML tried to win market share in the motorcycle sector as well.
In 2000 the two light motorcycle models LML Adreno and LML Energy appeared, developed in-house and technically almost identical; the Adreno had a front fairing, the Energy did without one. The more sporting Adreno came with an electric starter, a five-speed gearbox and a disc brake on the front wheel, where the Energy made do with simpler equipment. Both models used Daelim 100 cc engines with three-valve technology at the start of production.
Both motorcycles looked sporty, but in the economy-minded 100 cc class the brisk-running engines could not match that impression, and the expected sales success failed to appear. After a facelift at the end of 2001 the engine was replaced by the somewhat stronger Delta 4 unit with digital ignition and 110 cc, an in-house design that was also used from mid-2002 in the LML Freedom, the company’s hope for a recovery. This measure did not bring the two models the expected success either, while the Freedom sold well.
Design and features
- Faired body: the Adreno was the sporting, fully faired version of the LML Energy.
- Better equipment: electric starter, five-speed gearbox and front disc brake separated it from the plain Energy.
- Daelim engine: the first 100 cc three-valve four-stroke came from the South Korean partner.
- Delta 4 update: from the end of 2001 the in-house 110 cc engine with digital ignition.
LML Adreno versions
- Adreno 100 (2000–2001): the original model with the Daelim 100 cc engine.
- Adreno 110 (from the end of 2001): the facelifted version with the Delta 4 engine.
- LML Energy: the technically identical but unfaired sister model.
The Adreno’s Delta 4 engine later went into the LML Freedom, and the company’s better-known product was the LML Star scooter. More models are in the LML collection.
