The T370 is one of the medium-duty conventionals in Kenworth’s T170/T270/T370 family. The family replaced the T300 in 2008 and covers Class 5 to Class 7, sitting below the heavy T800 and T680 in the range.

Based on one source, the English Wikipedia article on Kenworth; the T370 is described there as part of the medium-duty family, so this page covers only what that article states.

History of the Kenworth T370

The T300 of 1994 was Kenworth’s first medium-duty conventional, built by adapting the T600 to Class 7 weight. By the 2008 modernisation of the model line the company replaced it with a whole family of medium-duty conventionals, the T170, T270 and T370, covering Class 5 to Class 7.

The new family kept the same job as the T300: a bonneted truck for regional haulage, delivery and municipal work, where a cab-over is not needed and a heavy tractor is too much truck. In Kenworth’s current North American range the T170/T270/T370 family has been listed as current production since 2008, with the T680 and T880 above it and the heavy T800 alongside.

The medium-duty class has since moved towards electric drive. For 2021 Kenworth introduced battery-electric versions of three model lines, one of them the K370E, the electric member of the medium-duty cab-over family that shares its class with the T370.

Design and features

  • Class 5–7 family: three models covering the medium-duty weight classes.
  • Conventional layout: a bonneted cab for regional and delivery work.
  • Replacement for the T300: the same role as Kenworth’s first medium-duty conventional.
  • Still current: the family has been in production since 2008.

Kenworth T370 versions

  • T170: the lightest model of the family.
  • T270: the middle model of the family.
  • T370: the heaviest model of the family.
  • T300: the single model that the family replaced in 2008.

The T370 replaced the T300 and sits below the heavy T800 and the T600 line. The medium-duty cab-over of the same period is the K300. More trucks are in the Kenworth collection.
