In April 2016 on the stages of Beijing Auto Show, Honda hold the official premiere of the mid-size SUV Honda Avancier, whose prototype Concept D was shown in the spring of 2015 in Shanghai. In China sales of the five-door started in late October 2016, but in the future it has all chances of appearing in other markets.
No doubt, Honda Avancier immediately catches the eye – the crossover looks expressive, dynamic and neat. The length of the mid-size SUV reaches 4816 mm, width and height of its body – 1942 mm and 1669 mm respectively and the wheelbase stretches to 2820 mm. In the “battle” state the novelty weighs from 1750 to 1881 kg depending on modification.
The interior of the second generation Honda Avancier resembles premium SUVs of the brand with premium finishing materials used in interior decoration: soft plastics, leather, metallic decor and real-wood inserts.
In the center of the front panel placed an 8-inch touch screen responsible for multimedia features and climate control, modern multi-function steering wheel “hiding” behind some exemplary informative devices with analog scales with a large color display of a trip computer mounted in the middle.
The interior of the novelty promises a solid reserve of space on both seat rows. The front seats have a well-developed side profile with electric adjustments, and the back sofa offers its passengers cozy accommodation and extra benefits of civilization, such as an armrest, cup holders and individual control of “climate”.
With a five-seat layout the luggage compartment of the novelty counts 510 liters. The second row of seats can be folded in a plain line with the floor divided into two unequal part, greatly increasing the freight characteristics of the car.
The hood compartment of the second generation Honda Avancier hides a 2.0 four-cylinder petrol VTEC unit belonging to the Earth Dreams “family”. It is able to immediately generate 272 hp and 370 Nm of torque. In the base the motor is equipped with 9-band “automatic” push-button selector and a front-wheel drive, and for an extra fee it can be coupled with the all-wheel drive transmission and a multi-plate clutch, directing traction to the rear wheels.
In 2017, “Avanser” will probably get a hybrid version with Funtec + Hybrid power unit, combining a 1.5-liter VTEC Earth Dreams and a pair of electric motors, with the atmospheric unit volume of 2.4 liters and the output of 200 horsepower, which will be mated to a 6-speed “mechanics” with CVT.
In a standard configuration the vehicle is equipped with six airbags, 19 inch wheels, multimedia system with 8-inch touch screen, “music” with six speakers, three-zone “climate», ABS, EBD, VAS, BA, electric drive of front seats, exterior mirrors with heating and elektric adjustments and lots of other interesting features.
