The Garelli Xò was a range of scooters with 16-inch wheels built from 2009 to 2021. The 125, 150, 200 and 300 versions used single-cylinder four-stroke engines and a stepless transmission, and they were designed above all for use in town.

History of the Garelli Xò
A scooter built around big wheels
The Xò family was launched in 2009 and remained in production until 2021. Its most obvious feature was the pair of 16-inch wheels, which made the scooters more stable over broken city surfaces than the small-wheeled scooters common at the time. The design was modern and the equipment aimed at everyday use rather than touring.
Four capacities
The line grew from the 125 to the 150, 200 and 300, all with single-cylinder four-stroke engines cooled by air or by a combination of oil and air. Every version had a stepless transmission, and all were built for inner-city use. A 50 cc two-stroke version also existed in the range, and it is the machine shown in the video below; the published article describes only the larger four-stroke models.
Design and features
- 16-inch wheels: large wheels for a scooter of this size, chosen for stability in town.
- Single-cylinder four-strokes: air-cooled or oil- and air-cooled units of 125, 150, 200 and 300 cc.
- Stepless transmission: every version was automatic, with no gears to change.
- Modern design: the Xò was styled as a contemporary city scooter, not a retro model.
Garelli Xò versions
- Xò 125: the smallest of the four-stroke versions.
- Xò 150: mid-range capacity.
- Xò 200: larger engine for faster roads.
- Xò 300: the largest version, listed for 2021.
The Xò was one of the scooters of the revived Garelli, together with the Garelli Tiesse and the Garelli Capri 50. More machines are in the Garelli collection.
