History of the FNM Fúria
The 2150 it was based on
The Fúria was built on the FNM 2150, the restyled replacement for the FNM 2000 that arrived in 1969. Its twin-camshaft four-cylinder engine had grown to 2,132 cc and breathed through a better set of carburettors; the five-speed gearbox was the same one FNM had used in its cars up to that point. The 2150 remained in production until 1974.
The Fúria GT of 1971
In 1971 FNM presented another coupé, the Fúria GT 2150. It was designed by the Brazilian designer Toni Bianco and used the chassis and mechanics of the 2150. Only a few hand-built examples were produced, but the stylish coupé may have helped the public image of the by then ageing design of the mainstream FNM 2150.
After the Fúria
Bianco later made sporting creations carrying his own name. FNM’s car line ended in 1974, when the 2150 was replaced by the Alfa Romeo 2300 and the FNM badge gave way to an Alfa Romeo one.
