The Ferrari SF90 Stradale (Type F173) is a mid-engine plug-in hybrid sports car made by Ferrari. It shares its name with the SF90 Formula One car, the 90 standing for the 90th anniversary of the Scuderia Ferrari racing team, and “Stradale” being Italian for “made for the road”.

History of the Ferrari SF90 Stradale
Design

Ferrari claims 390 kg of downforce at 250 km/h from new aero and thermal findings. The main design feature is the twin-part rear wing, an application of Formula One’s drag reduction system: a fixed element incorporates the rear light, and the mobile parts, which Ferrari calls “shut off Gurney”, blend into the body with electric actuators. The cab-forward design makes better use of the aero parts and finds room for the radiators of the hybrid system; the rear carries Ferrari styling elements such as the flying buttresses, and the side profile recalls the 1960s 330 P3/4. According to lead designer Flavio Manzoni the design lies between a spaceship and a race car.
Powertrain
Three electric motors add 162 kW (220 PS) to a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 rated at 735 kW (1,000 PS) and 800 N·m. The 7.9 kWh battery gives 26 km of electric range, and an eManettino knob on the steering wheel selects eDrive (electric only), Hybrid (the default), Performance (engine kept running to charge the battery) or Qualify (full potential). The control logic covers the high-voltage system, the RAC-e torque-vectoring system and the MGUK with the engine and gearbox.
