History of the CPI SX 50
The enduro line
CPI’s products are divided into five groups, the scooter, enduro, club, quad and moped ranges. The enduro range in the French Wikipedia article on CPI Motor Company is made up of the SM/SX 50 and the SM 125, SM 200 and SM 250; the SX 50 is therefore the smallest machine of that line.
A maker of scooters, mopeds and quads
CPI (Collaboration Professional Innovation) was founded in 1991 and makes its own engines of 50 to 200 cm³, saying that all of them meet the EURO 2 standard. Between them the group’s plants in China at Qingyuan, in Malaysia at the Modenas site in Gurun and in Taiwan at Dali in Taichung turned out tens of thousands of machines a month.
Import and sales
The main markets for CPI vehicles are Europe, Indonesia, Iran, China, Turkey and the USA. From 2009 the European importer was Hans Leeb Zweirad Handels of Wolfsberg in Austria. In Germany the vehicles were handled by Jack Fox GmbH & Co KG, which also supplied the Praktiker stores and the Otto mail-order catalogue, until the company was wound up after its insolvency at the end of April 2010.
