For the first time Cadillac XTS made its debut in January 2010 in terms of the North American Auto Show as a luxury concept model XTS Platinum, which in 2012 made it to the conveyor with minor modifications.
In July 2016 the Americans have presented an updated version of the model – it passed through the procedure of light “rejuvenation” of appearance, acquired a more expensive interior decoration and obtained an improved multimedia complex, but dispensed with the technical metamorphosis.
The exterior Design of Cadillac XTS is entirely subordinated to the “family” style of the brand, which abound with sharp edges and corners, as well as the overall solidity of the body. Overall dimensions of the novelty are as follows: 5131 mm long, 1510 mm high and 1852 mm wide. The gap between the wheel pairs reaches 2837 mm, and its clearance equals 130 mm.
The refined interior decoration of the new Cadillac XTS is accomplished in the current style of the American premium brand. The interior flourishes with expensive finishing materials – soft plastics, wooden “decor”, aluminum and leather inserts.
Five-seated cabin of the new sedan features a welcoming atmosphere and a large supply of free space. Ergonomically designed front seats with unobtrusive support on the sides have a wide range of adjustments and the rear sofa with a welcoming layout is able to comfortably accommodate passengers of any height.
The volume of cargo compartment in the “stowed” state equals 509 liters. Second row of seats has a folding backrest, “cut” in a ratio of 60/40, allowing to transport large and long objects. The underground niche “hides” a compact spare tire and a standard set of tools.
Cadillac XTS will be available with 2 petrol units working in conjunction with a 6-speed Hydra-Matic transmission with manual mode and front-wheel drive transmission. Optionally, each of them is combined with a system of all-wheel drive with electronically controlled multi-plate Haldex clutch, responsible for the redistribution of traction between the axes, and the function of the electronic differential lock.
In the US Cadillac XTS of the 2017 model year will be offered to customers in 6 modifications: Base, Luxury, Premium Luxury, Platinum, V-Sport Premium Luxury and V-Sport Platinum. “The top” version “sports” with a virtual instrument cluster, 20-inch “rollers”, advanced audio system with 14 speakers, 12.3-inch multimedia display, three-zone “climate”, front and rear parking sensors, etc.
