History of the Aprilia Shiver 750
The Shiver was shown in November 2006 at EICMA in Milan and went on sale for 2007. It was among the first bikes to carry Aprilia’s Ride by Wire technology: the throttle grip, accelerator and throttle bodies are managed electronically through a control unit that changes the engine map according to three modes chosen by the rider.

The Sport mode gives maximum power and torque, Touring reduces the response of the throttle, and Rain reduces torque by 25%, according to English Wikipedia. The instrument panel has a full set of gauges, including a gear indicator.
A partly faired version, the Shiver 750 GT, was launched in 2009 and produced until 2013. The Shiver also provided the engine and frame of the first Dorsoduro, the SMV 750 supermotard, which differed in suspension and tuning.
