History

The 450 was the successor of the 430. The most important difference was the engine, which increased the power from 80 hp to 90 hp. The cockpit was enlarged, and the grille now had five horizontal bars instead of three.

In 1959 the 450 was updated and renamed the Alfa Romeo 455, which was produced until the early 1960s. The 450 was also available with all-wheel drive, and the bodies built on its chassis were later the subject of aftermarket conversions.

Design and features

  • Five horizontal bars on the grille, replacing the three of the 430.
  • An enlarged cockpit compared with the 430.
  • Available with two-wheel or all-wheel drive.
