History of the Victory Vision

A tourer for 2008

The Vision was introduced in February 2007 as part of the 2008 lineup, in a touring configuration. It came in two versions: the Street, with a full fairing and hard saddlebags, and the Tour, which also had a hard trunk. Victory gave it a low seat height and a wide range of luxury electronics.

Vision 8-Ball

In 2010 Victory changed the Street version into an 8-Ball. The 8-Ball bikes came in one colour at a lower retail price with fewer add-ons; the Vision 8-Ball, for example, did without the passenger backrest and trunk, and had a lower seat.

Specification

The 2010 Vision used the 106 cu in (1,740 cc) four-stroke 50° V-twin with 92 hp (69 kW) and 109 lb·ft (148 N·m), a six-speed gearbox, electronic fuel injection with dual 45 mm throttle bodies, a 6 US gal (23 L) tank and a carbon-fibre reinforced belt final drive.

Design and features

  • Full fairing: the Street version had a full fairing and hard saddlebags.
  • Hard trunk: the Tour added a trunk on top of the Street specification.
  • Low seat: a low seat height was part of the touring design.
  • Luxury electronics: the Vision offered a wide range of electronic equipment.
  • 8-Ball version: one colour, fewer add-ons and a lower price, without the passenger backrest and trunk.

Victory Vision versions

  • Vision Street (2008–2009): full fairing and hard saddlebags.
  • Vision Tour (2008 onwards): a Street with an added hard trunk.
  • Vision 8-Ball (2010 onwards): the Street replaced by a cheaper black version.

The Vision was Victory’s touring model, alongside the Cross Country bagger; the story of the marque is told in Victory Motorcycles. More in the Victory collection.
