History of the Lublin 3
The Lublin 3 went on sale in 1999. The changes to the body were small: new indicator and parking lamps were fitted in the corners, and the anti-corrosion protection was improved. Underneath there was a new gearbox from Kia, with a unit from FPS Tczew as an option, and a new propeller shaft.
After the factory went bankrupt in the autumn of 2001 it was taken over by the engine maker Andoria of Andrychów, and production of the Lublins restarted in the spring of 2002. At the end of 2003 the rights passed to Intrall Polska, which restarted production at the beginning of 2004. In 2005 came the modernised Lublin 3Mi: a new grille with round lamps, and on the van new rear indicator and stop lamps arranged in the manner of the Żuk. A 2.8-litre Iveco 8140.43S engine of 125 hp joined the range, and in 2006 the 4CT90 was replaced by the intercooled 4CTi90 of 102 hp.
Production stopped in December 2007 when Intrall went bankrupt. From 2004 the Lublin 3Mi had also been assembled in SKD form at the Unison works near Minsk, and for a short period the van was sold in Germany as the Intrall L3. In May 2009 DZT Tymińscy bought the rights to the Honker and Lublin models from the Daewoo Motor Polska receiver. The modernised DZT Pasagon appeared in 2010 and was built from January 2011; it was renamed Honker Van and then Honker Cargo, and the last examples were made in 2013. In 2017 the Ursus Elvi prototype used the cab and chassis of a Lublin.
