History of the Karsan J10
Successor to the J9 Premier
The J10 followed the Karsan J9 Premier, a minibus that had been based on the platform of the Peugeot J9, a light van of the 1980s. The new model was built by Karsan between 2010 and 2015 as the company’s offer in the small passenger bus class.
One body, several capacities
The J10 was sold in three capacity versions, with 14, 17 or 20 seats, and with two body lengths of 3.3 metres (10.8 ft) or 3.8 metres (12.5 ft). Both versions had a gross vehicle weight rating between 4.1 and 4.3 tonnes, which keeps the minibus in the light commercial class rather than among full-size buses.
Power came from a 2.3-litre common-rail engine supplied by Iveco, developing 96 hp (71 kW) and 240 N·m (180 lb·ft) of torque. The standard equipment list included ABS, EBD, automatic rear doors, a sunroof, electric windows and central locking, while air conditioning was available as an option.
