History of the Kanuni Seyhan
From MZ importer to Turkish manufacturer
Kuralkan Motorlu Araçlar A.Ş. was founded in 1987 and at first worked as the distributor of MZ motorcycles from East Germany. When Germany was reunified in 1990 the company bought the MZ factory and moved it to Turkey, and in 1994 it began building motorcycles under its own Kanuni brand in Dudullu, Istanbul.
The Kanuni range
In 2006 the factory moved to Tuzla, near Sabiha Gökçen Airport, where production continues. Kanuni also has partnerships with the South Korean manufacturer S&T Motors and the Indian manufacturer Bajaj Auto. The Seyhan appears in the brand’s published list of models, alongside the Breton, Windys, Cub, Tigrina, Scooter, Wiki 125i, Trodon, Seha, Reha, Mati and Resa machines and a line of ATVs.
