The Hero Honda Achiever was a 149.1 cm³ motorcycle manufactured in India by Hero Honda from 2006. It shared its chassis and body parts with the Hero Honda Ambition 135 and used the Honda Unicorn engine; after a break it returned as the Hero Achiever and later the Achiever 150, but never sold in large numbers.

History of the Hero Honda Achiever

First generation (2006)

Production of the Hero Honda Achiever started in early 2006. The bike was based on the Hero Honda Ambition 135 platform and shared its chassis and body parts. Its 149.1 cm³ engine was the same Honda Unicorn unit, with a bore and stroke of 57.3 by 57.8 mm and a minuscule difference in power, and it was equipped with the Advanced Microprocessor Ignition System that Hero Honda had first introduced on the Ambition 135 and a Keihin conventional CV carburettor, meeting BS3 emission norms. Production stopped in 2010 because of low sales.

Hero Achiever (2011)

After the separation of the Hero Honda joint venture, Hero Honda restarted production of the model in 2011 under the name Hero Achiever, with some graphic variations and black alloy wheels but the same 149.1 cm³ engine, still meeting BS3 norms, now with ATFT technology. Sales remained weak and the Achiever was discontinued in 2015.

Achiever 150 (2017)

In 2017 Hero launched the model again as the Hero Achiever 150, a second-generation update with a new headlight design and new body panels but the same chassis and engine, the i3s idle start-stop system and BS4 compliance. It was never a big hit because of increasing competition in the Indian 150 cc market, and production ceased in 2019.
