History of the Genuine Blur 220i

The big-bore member of the PGO family

Genuine Scooters turned to PGO Scooters of Taiwan in 2006 to broaden its supply beyond the Indian-built Stella. The partnership began with the Buddy, a small automatic scooter, and later grew to include a wider spread of models. Among them was the Blur 220i, which stepped up in displacement and used fuel injection, making it the machine in the range that could hold its own at motorway speeds rather than being confined to city streets.

A short life in the line-up

The Blur 220i was later discontinued, leaving the smaller Buddy and Roughhouse 50 to carry Genuine’s PGO-built business, joined from 2014 by the Hooligan 170i with its twin headlights and matte military-green colour option. All of these scooters were made in Taiwan and sold in the United States under the Genuine name, while PGO marketed its own models elsewhere.
