The DINA Linner was one of the four urban buses that marked the restart of DINA’s bus production in 2008. It was developed on the technology of the HTQ programme, and in 2010 it gained a gas-powered version, the Linner G.

History of the DINA Linner
DINA had a difficult start to the 2000s, but in 2004 the company began designing a new generation of passenger vehicles. These were based on HTQ technology, the high-technology truck programme developed with Design Works of BMW, MCI and Roush Industries, and on national and international standards for buses.
The result arrived in May 2008, when the restart of DINA Camiones was announced with four new bus models, all of them urban: the DINA Linner, Runner, Picker and Outsider. The Linner was the rear-engined member of the group, and the company listed it in two forms, the HTQ Linner 10 and the HTQ Linner G.
The range continued to grow after the relaunch. In 2010 DINA launched a gas-powered bus, the DINA Linner G, and in 2011 it added a specialised cargo truck, the DINA Hustler, a tractor unit for container transport in commercial ports. The Linner therefore stands at the point where the maker’s HTQ engineering was turned into a modern city bus.
Design and features
- Rear engine: the Linner was laid out with its engine at the back, as listed in the HTQ bus range.
- HTQ technology: the bus used engineering from the company’s high-technology truck programme.
- Urban role: it was designed for city service rather than long-distance work.
- Gas option: the Linner G of 2010 ran on natural gas.
DINA Linner versions
- HTQ Linner 10: the standard rear-engined urban bus.
- HTQ Linner G: the rear-engined version with natural gas power.
- DINA Runner: the front-engined stablemate launched with the Linner in 2008.
- DINA Picker and Outsider: the other two urban models of the 2008 relaunch.
The Linner was launched alongside the HTQ truck programme described in the DINA HTQ article, and the earlier coaches are in the DINA F12 article. More vehicles are in the DINA collection.
