History of the Aprilia Leonardo

The Leonardo was designed taking some of the main features of the second-generation Aprilia SR, including the position lights with the high beams, the turn signals and a good part of the bodywork. The changes were the low wheels, the ground clearance and rear lights no longer cylindrical but recessed into the bodywork. English Wikipedia lists the Leonardo, the SR and the Gulliver as the scooters Aprilia launched after the new Scarabeo.

The Italian page says that even after its production ended, the Leonardo still seemed to be the most used and discussed scooter for its chassis, engine and riding position.

Leonardo ST, 2001

In July 2001 the Leonardo had a small restyle called ST, with a different air intake, two stripes beside the turn signals, a new model logo and rear lights recessed together with the turn signals into a downward-pointing arch. The power of the 125 and 250 versions was also revised.
