History of the Adly Moto
A Taiwanese maker founded in 1978
Her Chee Industrial Co., Ltd. was founded in 1978 in Taiwan and at first produced motorcycles. Its Adly Moto brand has since grown into a range that covers mopeds, scooters with petrol and electric drive, go-karts and quad-bikes. The company is based in Yichu in Chiayi County, in the south of the island, and the Adly name is the one under which its vehicles are sold at home and abroad.
Into Europe and the youth-quad market
In 1990 Her Chee became the first Taiwanese scooter manufacturer to enter the European market. The company also states that it was the first manufacturer in the world to obtain a general EU type approval to EEC 92/61 for youth quads — the small four-wheelers that, in Austria and Germany, may be driven on public roads from the age of 16. That approval put the Adly quads into a market of their own, between toys and full-size road vehicles.
The company behind the brand
The maker has been listed on the over-the-counter market since 2002, and its business is not confined to vehicles sold under its own name: Her Chee Industrial holds an exclusive manufacturing agreement for the LandFighter range of all-terrain vehicles. Alongside the scooters and quads of the Adly range, this contract work made the company a supplier of complete ATVs to another brand.
