The history of Nissan Kicks began in 2014 when the Japanese Automaker first presented its new crossover concept at the Auto Show in Sao Paulo. The serial version of the novelty is very similar to the prototype design, yet adjusted for the mass production.

Among the main elements of Nissan Kicks’ charisma one can notice: a V-shaped radiator grille reflecting the branded “family” design, high seating, dramatic roof line, two-tone bodywork and the “athletic” body shape.

Dimensional length of the new Nissan Kicks amounts to 4 295 mm, width – 1760 mm, height – 1590 mm. Earlier the Manufacture had presented Nissan Kicks as an alternative to Juke model – the iconic crossover, which has divided the audience into two parts: those who fell into triumphant rhapsodies over its unusual design on one side and those for whom the crossover turned out best example of how the car should not look like on the other side.

Inside, Nissan Kicks looks pretty, smart, but very reserved. Its interior is characterized by high-quality assembly and sturdy finishing materials. “Kicks” is a four-seater with vital space enough to comfortly accommodate passengers on each of the rows of seats.

In the arsenal of Nissan Kicks there is a spacious luggage compartment with the volume of 383 liters in the “stowed” form. The rear sofa is transformed by two asymmetrical parts, but does not form a smooth surface.

When creating a crossover the engineers were focused on the aerodynamic component which eventually led to the reduction of noise in the cabin, created by the wind counter-flow. Nissan Kicks – is a B-class crossover, designed to compete with other Japanese compact SUV Honda HR-V.

The main power unit of the novelty – is a 1.6 petrol engine, developing 114 hp with the maximum of 152 Nm of torque. In other Latin American countries the crossover will be available with a different engine: 119 hp gasoline engine, developing 149 Nm of torque. The engine unit is accompanied with 5-speed manual transmission or a stepless Xtronic CVT.

All configurations of the new SUV have a rack and pinion steering system with an electric power steering control and disc brakes on each of the wheels (ventilated in the front) with ABS, EBD and other assistants.

The model will be produced at the factory in Mexico, and sales will begin in Brazil – as early as in August. Subsequently the car will be released in other markets of Latin America and other continents in 2017.

In Brazil, orders for Nissan Kicks will be taken from August 5, 2016, and later it will be presented in more than 80 countries (configuration and prices has not yet been announced, but it will obviously be much cheaper than Juke).
