New budget A-class Hatchback Renault Kwid Photo & Video
Renault Kwid, formerly known as XBA Project or Kayou, has finally been officially presented to public. However, the 5-door model has the proportions of a crossover. It may seem that the novelty is a younger brother of Duster or Stepway.
Engineers from France, Korea, Japan, and India were involved in the development of the car. Overall length of Renault Kwid is only 3.68 meters and width is 1.58 meters. Ground clearance is 18 cm. Mini crossover can also boast with the largest luggage compartment in its segment. Kwid is ideal for trips in the urban and off-road mode. The new hatchback provides an excellent overview so that the driver can feel relaxed when traveling.
In accordance with the design strategy of Laurens van den Acker, Kwid reflects the direction of “Explore” (the world of travel, discovery and research). This is where the crossover image comesfrom with its high seats, large windows, lots of additional storage space in the cabin and the largest trunk in A-class segment.
The French Manufacturer promises that the quality of finishing materials in the novelty will be fairly high by the standards of A-class segment. This will also refer to the equipment – depending on the version, Kwid might be equipped with MediaNav media center with seven-inch touch screen and Bluetooth option.
The new budget model has received pretty digital instrument panel with easily readable graphics. Newbie Kwid offers modern, intuitive interior with technologies not only meeting the needs of the drivers, but also making the driving process easier.
It’s worth noticing that CMF-A platform has made its debut with Renault Kwid hatchback. It is known that the car will have 0.8 petrol engine with 5-speed manual transmission. Engine power will be around 70 or 90 horses. The model will be equipped with EDC box and have 2 clutches.
According to unofficial data, in future Kwid can acquire a twin under the brand of Dacia. The French manufacturer stated that India is the most important market for the model. Indian Renault KWID will be available with 0.8-liter petrol engine and five-speed manual at the price of 4200-5600 euros.
In the nearest future, Renault Company plans to release the novelty to other world markets since A-class budget models are becoming more popular and guarantee stable demand to the Manufacturer. However when hatching into international markets, the new Kwid will have more powerful petrol and diesel versions, as well as automatic transmission.
