At the international Beijing Auto Show, which kicked off at the end of April 2016, the Chinese company Geely held a world premiere of the serial version of compact crossover NL3. The novelty came from the pen of the former ex-Volvo designer Peter Horbury and has become the first off-road vehicle of the brand, equipped with all-wheel drive.
Exterior design of Geely NL3 is subject to the new brand stylistics of the brand, set up by a large sedan GC9. And one must say, the crossover has turned out to be nice and harmonious, and its appearance does not remind a “replique”.
Overall length of Geely NL3 amounts to 4519 mm, wheelbase extends to 2670 mm and its height and width do not exceed 1694 mm and 1831 mm respectively. The road clearance equals 190 mm. In the curb state the crossover weighs ranges from 1550 to 1700 kg depending on the version.
The interior of SUV from the Celestial Empire “flaunts” with a refined sporty interior with embossed wheel, cut off at the bottom, and visual devices, placed in the “pits”. Descending center console comprises 7-inch touchscreen multimedia system, stylish climate control unit and the gear stick is surrounded with the key of auxiliary controls.
Inside Geely NL3 got successfully profiled front seats with pronounced side walls and welcoming molded rear sofa with a sufficient amount of free space guaranteed to all passengers.
Cargo compartment of the all-road vehicle is able to boast not only the right shape and presence of spare wheel in the underground, but also with an impressive volume – over 800 liters if loaded up to the ceiling. Rear seat backs fold in “60:40” ratio, increasing the capacity by almost half.
Geely NL3 is equipped with three petrol four-cylinder engine with 16-valve timing and direct power supply technology to meet “Euro 5” environmental standards. Depending on modification the crossover accelerates to 185-195 km / h and consumes an average of no more than 7.0-8.2 liters of fuel in mixed conditions per “hundred”, but its dynamic capabilities has not yet been officially announced.
Standard equipment of Geely NL3 includes front airbags, air conditioning, standard “music” with four speakers, power windows on four doors, 17 inch alloy wheels, power steering, ABS with EBD, BA, ESP, driving uphill assistant, etc.
Top version of Geely NL3 “flaunts” with Nappa leather interior trimming, LED front and rear optics, modern multimedia complex, sky cameras, digital instrument panel, dual-zone “climate”, the hatch with the electric drive, adaptive “cruise” and a long list of other systems responsible for comfort and safety of the driver and his passengers.
