In summer 2016 the fourth generation of the iconic American SUV Chevrolet Tahoe has undergone a slight upgrade, which came down to adding new modern equipment and did not affect the exterior or a technical “stuffing”.
The entire appearance of the fourth generation Chevrolet Tahoe exudes power and confidence and thus looking attractive and stylish. Finishing materials inside the vehicle fully comply with their high status – soft plastics, expensive leather, aluminum, and wood inlay.
“Tahoe” of the fourth generation is a true giant – its length is 5181 mm, width fits into 2044 mm and its height reaches 1889 mm. The distance between the wheels fits in a 2946-mm gap and its “belly” has a 200-mm ground clearance.
Inside the SUV there’s an atmosphere of calm and security. Behind the “beefy” multi-function steering wheel placed an ergonomic readable dashboard with six analog scales and a color onboard computer display.
At the top of the front panel there is a 8-inch display screen of MyLink multimedia complex, which has incorporated the majority of functions, while the lower part of the panel is occupied by the two-zone climate control unit.
By default, Chevrolet Tahoe is an eight-seater. Front passenger seats got comfortable armchairs with a dense profile, impressive number of electrical settings and the “heating” function. In the back row installed a traditional three-seater sofa, which is in the “top” versions is replaced with separate seats with adjustable backrests.
The luggage compartment of Chevrolet Tahoe with seven passengers on board features a considerable volume – 433 liters. With a removed “gallery” the luggage capacity rises to 1401 liters, and with the folded second row seats – 2682 liters (both rear rows of seats are transformed with the help of electrical drive to form a flat floor). “Tilt Wheel” is suspended under the floor of the vehicle.
Engine compartment of the fourth generation “Tahoe” accommodates a powerful gasoline L86 engine of Small Block family (aka EcoTec3) – the atmospheric V-shaped unit with the volume of 6.2 liters, direct injection, variable valve timing, oil pump of variable performance and the technology of switching off half of the “pots” at light loads.
Its output amounts to 409 horsepower at 5500 rev / min and 610 Nm of peak thrust at 4100 rev / min. The motor is equipped with a 6-speed hydro-mechanical Hydra-Matic “automat”.
The basic package includes 7 airbags, Leather trim seats, dual-zone “climate”, advanced multimedia complex, 18-inch wheels, ABS, ESP, parking sensors “in a circle” system monitoring “blind” zones, front and rear seats with heating , etc.
