The expectation for the first crossover in the history of Alfa Romeo has dragged on for thirteen years, since the Italians has demonstrated their first concept called Kamal in the remote March 2003. And finally, on November 16th, 2016 at the automobile show in Los Angeles the Italian manufacturer held the official presentation of the long-awaited SUV Alfa Romeo Stelvio, named in honor of the pass in the Eastern Alps.

The design of Alfa Romeo Stelvio is able to call only positive emotions – the car looks beautiful, impressive and highly refined. The outer dimensions of “Stelvio” refer it to the compact category: its length equals 4680 mm and its width and height stack into 2,160 mm and 1,650 mm respectively. The distance between the axles of the car fits into 2820 mm.

The saloon of Alfa Romeo Stelvio meets the passengers with stylish and spectacular design with a pronounced “two-storeyed architecture of the front panel with an 8.8-inch (in the “base” – 6.5-inch) screen multimedia system located in the middle and the immaculate air conditioner unit.

The pompous multifunctional steering wheel with embossed rim and a push-button start engine along with a catchy “toolbox” with a vertical zero position switches and 7-inch display of the onboard computer bring “sportiness” to the interior of a crossover. On the other hand, fine materials and impeccable finishing underline premium status of the novelty.

The “apartment” of the Italian SUV promises an ample supply of vital space for the passengers of the first and second rows of seats, with side support and developed electric adjustment installed at the front seats. There should be no serious problems with the practicality of the car either, however, is not reported how far-reaching the luggage compartment will be.

In the North American market Alfa Romeo Stelvio will be offered with two petrol powertrains, 8-step “automat” with paddle gear “petals”. In the European countries, most likely, the car will be offered in other modifications “under the hood” available with either gasoline or diesel units.

The “pilot” production of Alfa Romeo Stelvio is conducted on the Italian Cassino plant since the summer of 2016, so in the near future it should go on sale, although the price has not yet been announced.
